Dennis D. Grace, of Romeo, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Dennis was born in Detroit on April 22, 1938, the son of Cornelius and Dorothy (Ebel) Grace. He married the former Anne Saye on March 11, 1961 at St Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Pointe, Michigan. On December 15, 1960, just before marring Anne, Dennis joined the Navy where he spent 4 years. After his Navy Duty, Dennis became a plumber, where he worked many years in commercial building construction in the Detroit area. He belonged to Local 98 in Detroit. Upon retiring, he became a mechanical inspector, working for both the Village of Romeo and Washington Township. Dennis was extremely active in many civic and fraternal organizations in Romeo and at the his winter home in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was a member of the Punta Gorda Elks, American Legion, Moose & Eagles, Romeo VFW and Armada Amvets. Dennis was Past Noble Grand, IOOF, Past Exhalted Ruler, BPOE, and Past Commander of the Romeo VFW. In his spare time, he was a gifted wood craftsman, making all of his furniture at his home and making many gifts for his family & friends. Dennis is survived by his wife Anne, daughters: Erin Grace, Maureen Grace, & Denise Schultz. Grandchildren include Shane and Sydney DeMeere, Maggie Kochan, and John, Morgan & Austin Schultz. His two sisters survive, Noreen Grudich & Pat Parises. At Dennis’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. Memorial’s in memory of Dennis can be sent to the, Punta Gorda Elks, Past Exaulted Rulers Association, 25538 Shore Drive, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Local arrangements by the Henry M.
