Dennis M. Blumke

Dennis Michael Blumke, age 72, a resident of Washington Township since 1993, passed away on June 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. Dennis was born December 4, 1946 in Detroit, the son of Harold & Evelyn (Hanke) Blumke. He married the former Kathy Tyrell; she preceded him in death in 1995. Dennis worked at Chrysler Corporation Tech Center in Auburn Hills as an engineer for many years. He retired in 2002 and was credited with 3 patents while working. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon retirement he enjoyed woodworking, volunteering at Samaritan House, and helping at his church, St John Lutheran of Romeo. Dennis also enjoyed golfing, Detroit Tigers, and watching the Kentucky Derby. Dennis is survived by his children; Gina (Gary) Clark of Sterling Heights, Amy (Ken) Rupersburg of Algonac, Tracey (Derek) Smith of Washington Township, and Lyndsey (Matt) Dombkowski of Washington Township, grandchildren; Jeremy Clark, Donald Clark, Karley Blumke, Michael Rupersburg, Evelyn Rupersburg, Erick Smith, Lillian Dombkowski, Maddison Smith, Hailey Dombowski, and Lorelai Smith, siblings; Larry (Terri) Blumke of Macomb, Russ (Karen) Blumke of Shelby Twp., and Gregg Bishop of Shelby Twp. Dennis was preceded by his parents, and brother Wayne Bishop in 2017. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 11AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Evans Officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, July 5, 2019 from 2-8PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Romeo Cemetery.
