Dennis McGinty

Dennis J. McGinty of Clinton Township passed away on January 18, 2025, as a result of the effects of congestive heart failure. Dennis was born on October 12, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan to Clara A. McGinty (Wieferman) and Donald Patrick McGinty. Mr. McGinty graduated from Southeastern High School in Detroit in 1961 and went on to work as a baker’s assistant at Hodell’s Cake Box bakery on Harper in Detroit for over 25 years. Dennis was a hard worker, walking to work each day at 4:00 am to prepare the current day’s orders. After Hodell’s moved from Detroit to St. Clair Shores, Dennis spent several years working as a parking attendant at V.A. Hospital in Detroit. Dennis was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings and enjoyed watching their games and following them in the newspaper. He also enjoyed traveling to Ireland and on group bus tours to the Smokey Mountains and Toronto, Canada. Dennis was pre-deceased by his parents Donald and Clara but will be fondly remembered by his surviving siblings Robert (Beverly) McGinty, Donald McGinty, Kathleen (Frank) Bova and Eileen Shiemke along with fourteen nephews and nieces. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am, with visitation starting at 9:30 on January 29, 2025 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Romeo to celebrate Dennis’ 81 years of life.
