Dolores V. Dumais

Dolores V. Dumais, age 79, a resident of the Romeo area since 1976, passed away on Monday, March 16 at her home in Romeo. Dolores was born February 1, 1936 in Clinton Township, the daughter of George and Viola (Abbeg) Ureel. She married Joseph H.H. Dumais on April 26, 1956 at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Mt Clemens, and he preceded her in death on January 7, 2004. Dolores retired as a LPN at the Romeo Nursing Home where she had worked since 1977. She also worked in the nursing field at St Joseph’s Hospital in Mt Clemens, Woonsocket Hospital and Fogary Hospital both in Rhode Island and also at the Richmond Medi-Lodge Nursing Home. Her hobbies include sewing, gardening, dancing, and playing scrabble board game. Dolores is survived by her children: Barbara M. (Jerry) Jackson of Troy, Katherine M. Trainor of Romeo, Sharon L. Smith of Clinton Township, Sandra A. (Sam) Billardello of Clinton Township and Kenneth M. Dumais of Chesterfield Township. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, along with siblings: Marie (Jim) Austin of Romeo, Theresa Ureel of Chesterfield Twp., Christine (Daryle) Mukrdechian of Richmond and Earl (Joan) Ureel of Harrison Twp. Dolores was also preceded in death by her son Joseph George Dumais. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at St Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Mt Clemens. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3-8 and on Thursday from 4-8 with a 7 PM Rosary by the Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018, at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
