Donald A. Holmes Sr.

Donald Holmes Sr. went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2023. He worked hard his whole life as an avid farmer to provide for his family. Don began working his father's farm in his youth, first in New Haven, then in Richmond. He married Arberta Schirmer on October 3, 1970, and they raised two children. In the late 1980s, Don began solely managing the Richmond farm, and did so up until his passing. Over the years, he grew crops of soybeans, wheat, and corn.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Arberta Holmes, son Don Holmes Jr. (Cindy), daughter Roberta (James) Grondin, and granddaughter Cora.

Visitation will be held on Sunday December 3, 2023 from 2-8pm

Funeral Service will be on Monday December 4, 2023 at 11am all at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Mi.

Burial at Richard’s Cemetery, immediately following service.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for funeral expenses.
