Donald J. Lobsinger, age 84 lifelong resident of Detroit, passed away at Orchard Grove Health Campus in Romeo on November 18, 2018. Donald was born on September 23, 1934 in Detroit to David and Eleanor (Wagner) Lobsinger. Donald served in the Army for several years stationed in West Germany. Upon his return to the United States, Donald became a leader, spokesman and founder of the group Breakthrough in Detroit. This was an anti-communist, Victory in Vietnam War Organization of over 700 members. He also founded the Catholic Laymen's League which opposed communism and defended the Catholic Faith. Donald went to college and began working at Detroit Parks and Recreation. After 30 years of employment he retired. Donald enjoyed playing hockey in his spare time. Donald is survived by his sisters Mary Ann DeGentenaar of Armada and Janet (Bill) Snow of Arizona; Nephews Larry and Gary (Pat) DeGentenaar; and Great Nephew Robert DeGentenaar. Funeral Service will be at 10AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (57575 Romeo Plank Rd, Ray Township). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20 from 2PM-8PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo.
