Dorothy A. Bryant

June 15, 1934 — February 11, 2016

Dorothy A. Bryant, age 81, a resident of Washington Township since 1969 and previously from Sterling Heights, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at McLaren-Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Dorothy was born June 15, 1934 in Honeywell, Missouri, the daughter of Robert W. and Elsie Mae (McElroy) Murray. She married George Bryant, Jr. on July 19, 1958 at the Methodist Church on Jefferson Ave. in Detroit. Dorothy worked many years until1978 at the foundry for Pontiac Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. Upon retirement, she enjoyed working with the Red Cross, sewing, collecting thimbles, crocheting, and helping out family members and friends with any of their needs. Along with her family, they were long time members of the Romeo United Methodist Church. Dorothy is survived by her husband George, children: Barry Allen (Jane) Bryant and their daughter Casey, Jody Ann (Larry) Brandeberry and their children Bryan, Erin, & Kelly, Cindy Elaine (Donald) Simpson and their children Joshua & Katie, George Russell III (Monique) Bryant and their children Glory & Grace, Janie Carol (Timothy) Brown, Robert William (Andrea) Bryant Adam, Brittney, & Jessie, and Dorothy Kathleen (Donald) Vaxeliaire. Dorothy is also survived by her sister Elsie Mae “Carol” Murray and her brother Robert “Wayne” Murray. Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandson Jacob Bryant. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 15 at 11 AM at the Romeo United Methodist Church with Rev. John Bailey officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 6-8 and on Sunday from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Burial will take place at Mt Vernon Cemetery in Washington Township.
