Dorothy (Dottie) May Gillette, age 85, a resident of Macomb Township, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her home with family by her side. Dorothy was born January 14th, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Stephen and Rose (Bayer) Kecskes.
After graduating from Dominican High School in Detroit, Dorothy held many jobs. Her favorites were creating her own company as an aerobics instructor for Ford Motor Company and part-time modeling. She was truly focused on fitness her entire life. She was also a dedicated member of Christ Lutheran Church, in Warren, Michigan
Dorothy would light up any room she entered. She had an amazing zest for life. She had the personality and natural charisma to befriend almost anyone she met. She was very beautiful, both inside and out. She loved to spend time with her many friends and family any chance she could. She also loved to work on and go on cruises and she went on many.
Dorothy was married to the previously departed Roy Gillette. She loved him dearly and they went on many adventures together. She is also survived by her children, William (Lori) Georges of Shelby Township, Judi Potts of Shelby Township, grandchildren Billy (Kayley) Georges, Jon Georges, Jessica Georges, Tyler Brusseau, and Peyton Brusseau. She was also a great-grandmother to Zaiden and Kaidence. She also was a loving sister to the previously departed, Rosemary Watson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on April 27th, 2024 at 11:00AM.
Immediately following the Memorial Service, the family invites everyone to Roger’s Roost Restaurant for a continuation of the celebration of her Life. (33626 Schoenherr, Sterling Heights, MI 48312).
