Dorothy F. Leslie, age 94, a 67 year resident of the Sterling Heights area, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. Dorothy was born September 25, 1921 in Mayfield, Kentucky, (Graves County) the daughter of Harmon Taylor (Chloe Norman Jones) Gay. Dorothy worked many jobs over the years. Her last job was being a home care worker in Macomb County where she took care of many seniors. She also was a assembly person in the automotive field, working for Fisher Body in Detroit and Thompson Motors in Ferndale, MI. During WW II, she was a “Rosie the Riveter” girl, working on bombers at Willow Run, MI. Upon retirement, she enjoyed her grandchildren, painting, cooking, and being an artistic person. Dorothy is survived by her son Charles (Nancy) Ahlfield of Fowerville, MI., her son in law Thomas Wrobel of Romeo, along with 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Also, supportive to Dorothy were her step son Keith and his wife Kay, and their children. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Wrobel in 1988, brothers James Gay and Boyce Tayor Gay. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday July 6, 2016 at 2 PM with Fr. Jerry Kessel officiating with burial to follow in the Bruce-Armada Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 10 AM—2 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
