Dorothy Ruth Battenfield

Dorothy Ruth Battenfield, age 96, a 7 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Connellsville, PA, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2007 at St Joseph Medical Center in Clinton Twp. Dorothy was born Dec. 19, 1910  in Connellsville, PA., the daughter of Henry C. and Bessie (Morgan) Miller.  She married Roy Emerson Battenfield in 1930 in Connellsville and he preceded her in death on May 9, 1983.  Dorothy worked for West Penn. Power Company for many years.  She was also a member of Wesley United Methodist Church since 1923 and also belonged to the Kathern Francis Class and the Women's Circle.      Dorothy is survived by her daughter Dorothy Louise Showman of Romeo and her children (grandchildren) Edwin J. Showman of Connellsville, Kay L. Hayward of Hillman, MI., and David L. Showman of Romeo.  Also survived by great grandsons, Robert R. & Nickolas E. Showman both of Romeo and Edward C. & Brad A. Showman both of Connellsville.  Also survived by many nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by all of her sibling which included Florence M. Beatty, Eleanor McKee, Anna Pearl Feathers, & Charles H., Harry C, and Clyde E. Miller.     Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, July 11 at 1 PM at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Connellsville, PA. with Pastor Craig Forsythe officiating with burial to follow at Greenridge Cemetery in Connellsville, PA.
