Dr. Mitchell W. Jabczenski, Jr., age 84, a 15 year resident of Richmond and formerly from Romeo, passed away at his home on January 5, 2014. Mitchell was born March 6, 1929 in Detroit, the son of Mitchell Sr. and Stella (Bromirski) Jabczenski. He married Mary Ann Randazzo on May 26, 1951 at St Florian’s Catholic Church in Hamtramck. Dr. Jabczenski worked as a chiropractor for many years in both Romeo and Hamtramck, before retiring in 1989. He previously worked/owned the Hotel/Resort businesses in Cadillac, Sault Ste. Marie, and Redford, Michigan. Mitch was active in the Romeo Kiwanis club where he was the club secretary for many years, and achieved the George Hixson award and was a Life Member. Also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018 of St Clement of Rome where he served as the Grand Knight and was a 4th Degree member of the St Clement/Armada Assembly. In his younger days, he raced speed boats, buying his first racer from Bill Muncey. His hobbies included golfing & bowling. Along with Mary Ann, they were current members of Holy Family Catholic Church and previously were members of St Clement Catholic Church. Mitch is survived by his wife Mary Ann, children: Mitch (Toni) of Novi, Jim (Colleen) & Stella (Dennis) Peltier both of Lake Orion, Barbara (Allen) Valevich of Leonard, & Tricia Cate of Romeo. Also survived by 14 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by grandson Robert James, brother Robert, & sister Theresa Posnik. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, Jan. 9 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-8 & Wednesday from 2-8 with a 7:30 rosary at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, MI. Donations to St Jude’s would be appreciated (262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105). .
