Eddie G. Damron, age 71, since 1993 of Washington Twp., and formerly from Almont, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Eddie was born September 9, 1941 in Louisa, KY., the son of James and Alice (Fugitt) Damron. Eddie married the former Wilma Ann (Smith) Walker on March 24, 1994. He retired from Ford Motor Company as a Hi-Lo driver on August 1, 1994, after 30 years working at its transmission factory in Sterling Heights. Eddie was a longtime member of its Local, # 2280. Upon retirement, Eddie enjoyed Tiger’s Baseball, hunting, fishing, going to casino’s, and traveling over the country, especially Florida where he spent many winters. His love of his life was being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Eddie is survived by his wife Wilma of Washington, children: Diane Ballard with children Samantha & Joe from Franklin, TN., Regina (Denny) Wycinski with children Brent & Chelsea of Almont MI., Pamela Sanborn with children Jake & Jesse of Santa Cruz, CA., Steve Smith (Sarah) with son James of Rochester MI., Naretta Ewing of Lake Charles, LA., Helen Burrowes of Indianapolis IN., brother in law Chuck Norrow of Clinton Twp. MI., and sister in law Helen Damron of Louisa, KY. Eddie was preceded by parents, sister-Joyce Norrow and brother Harry Damron and brother in laws Bud Ewing and Bill Burrowes. Memorial visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 2-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with a religious service at 7 PM with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship officiating.
