Edmund H. Braeckevelt

Edmund H. (Ed) Braeckevelt, age 72, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Shelby Twp.  Ed was born September 3, 1935 in Romeo. He married Virginia DeWitte in 1957 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Anchorville, MI.  Ed, along with his wife Virginia and their children, were lifelong Romeo farmers on the same farm that was started by Ed's parents, the late Edmond and Bertha (VanNeste) Braeckevelt. His hobbies were deer hunting & fishing.     Ed is survived by his wife Virginia, children RoseMary (Fred) Goike of Shelby Twp., and Gerard (Shannon) Braeckevelt of Romeo.  Grandchildren include Scott, Alisha, & Gerard Goike and Veronica, Donald, & Andrea Braeckevelt.       Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo followed by burial at Bruce-Armada Cemetery in Bruce Twp.  Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with a rosary at 7 PM by the Knights of Columbus,  Council # 7018 of St Clement.  Donations to the charity of your choice in memory of Ed would be appreciated.
