Edmund J. Polakowski, age 65, a 40 year resident of the Romeo area, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Edmund was born October 20, 1942 in Detroit, the son of Edmund J. and Irene (Kolasa) Polakowski. He married Judy Wasmund on October 26, 1963 at St. Thecala Catholic Church in Clinton Twp. Ed worked for over 30 years at Fisher Body / GM Tech Center in Warren as an electrical engineer. Along with his wife and family, they loved to entertain, travel, (especially to their Florida home) & going to casino's. In Romeo, Ed was the head of The Club, a group of people that shopped at the Alward Grocery Store on a daily basis. Edmund is survived by his wife Judy of Romeo, 2 sons: Steve (Ann) Polakowski of Sterling Heights & Paul (Susan) Polakowski of Dryden. Also survived by his mother Irene of Clinton Twp., along with grandchildren Nicholas, Brooke, & Michael. Siblings surviving include Melanie Manfredo of Sterling Heights, Pam (Brad) Voss of Clinton Twp., and Mark (Connie) Polskowski of Macomb Twp. Funeral services will take place on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with Fr. Stephen Reckker officiating. Burial will follow in Bruce-Armada Cemetery in Bruce Twp.
