Edward B. Pollock, age 83, a lifelong Romeo/Cusic Lake area resident, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his home. Edward was born Aug. 23, 1926 in Detroit, the son of Benjamin and Theresa (Govern) Pollock. Ed married the former Betty M. Lottie on April 6, 1953 in Angola, IN. and then renewed their vows at St Clement Catholic Church on Sept. 19, 1981. Ed retired from the Romeo School System as a bus mechanic in 1989 and previously worked/owned the “Pollock’s Party Store/Sunoco Gas Station” in Fraser, MI for 35 years with his parents and brother Eugene. from 1946 till selling the business in 1979. He loved to fish, especially at his Cusick Lake Home. His hobbies included tinkering/fixing things, playing all types of card games, watching his beloved Detroit Tigers play baseball, and playing softball on his over 70’s leagues. Ed served his Country in the Army during WWII where he was known as "Baldy". He was part of the 43 rd Winged Victory Division where he fought in the capture of Luzon and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 1 bronze battle star, Philippine Liberation ribbon with 1 bronze battle star, victory medal, good conduct medal, & Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. Edward is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty M. of Romeo, children: Elizabeth (Mike) Hackerd of Romeo, Theresa (Greg) Strobel of Leonard, Edward (Gerri Ann) Pollock of Oakland Twp., Louise (Rick) Wilson of Romeo, Ben (Tina) Pollock of Romeo, Vince (Tracey) Pollock of Washington, MI., and Mike (Crystal) Pollock of Ray Twp. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 7 1/2 great grandchildren, his sister Eleanor (Edward) Ochylski of Vero Beach, FL., and his sister-in-law Joan Pollock of Macomb Twp. Ed was preceded in death by his son Jimmy and his brother Eugene. Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 23 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church, Romeo with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp. Visitation will take place on Wed. from 5-9 and on Thursday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Visitation: on Wednesday from 5-9 on Thursday from 2-9 with a 7 PM Rosary by the Knights of Columbus, Coucil # 7018 of St Clement Catholic Church Services: on Friday at St Clement Catholic Church (343 S. Main, Romeo Michigan 48065) Interment: Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan
