Edward J. Brabandt Sr., age 60 a 35 year resident of Romeo passed away on January 16, 2020, at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital surrounded by his family. Edward was born on February 15, 1959 the son of Edward Clement Brabandt and Margaret Louise Carlu. He attended and graduated from L’Anse Creuse Central class of 1977. Edward went on to attend Western Michigan University and then transferred to Oakland University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He spent many years as an engineer with GM and ultimately retired in 2004. He was also the President of the board of directors for Friends and Family Incorp. He left us with a smile on his face and love in his heart. Throughout his life, Ed loved playing hockey, poker, dancing, and going to the casino, but most of all, he enjoyed sharing a laugh with his loved ones. His family and friends meant everything to him. His final time was spent making sure everyone was ok. He was truly a selfless man that cared for all people. Ed is survived by his loving wife Marie Grace of Shelby Twp. Children; Eddie (Kendall) of Bloomfield Hills, Jeff (Brea) Kabacinski of Warren, Danyeal (Jonathan) Kabacinski of Troy, Heather Sarafinski of Goodrich, and Jenny Sarafinski of Pennsylvania. Sisters; Judy (Jack) Mifflin, and her children Jack (Kim) and Joseph (Denise), and Jeanette Brabandt. Grandchildren; Edison Brabandt, Logan Kabacinski, Ross Parinello, Alyssa Parinello, Keaton Johnsen, and Drew Johnsen. Great Niece and Nephews; Jenna, Jack, Dominic, and Joey. Ed did not want people to mourn for him, rather he wanted us to celebrate his life and have a party in his honor. A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, from 11-2 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. A luncheon will take place after at Capital Banquet Center (12350 31 Mile Road, Washington Twp. MI 48095). In lieu of flowers donations can be made to “Marie Grace Brabandt” for a memorial bench located at Heritage Park where Marie Grace and Edward were married
