Edward Sherman Jr., age 85, a 44 year resident of Romeo passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St John’s Hospital in Detroit. Ed was born January 4, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Edward Sr. and Emily (Duda) Sherman He marred the former Gloria T. Wehner on March 7, 1953 at Our Lady of the Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, MI., and she preceded him in death on August 4, 2007. Ed was a member of Operating Engineer’s Local 324, where he operated heavy road construction equipment for many years, before retiring in 1994. Ed, along with his family were long time members of St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo. Ed served his Country during the Korean War in the Army and in his spare time enjoyed camping, driving his beloved 1966 red Mustang, feeding his many birds, and especially being with his daughters and grandchildren. Ed is survived by his two daughter: Karen Sherman of Romeo and Gail Hoffman of St Clair Shores, MI. Also survived by grandchildren Kelli & Shawn Hoffman. Surviving siblings include Mary Jean Hall of Royal Oak, JoAnn Woodke of Fowlerville, Dave (Debbie) Sherman of Shelby Township and Dennis Sherman of Harrison Twp. Ed was preceded by his son-in-law Dan Hoffman and siblings: Allen, Beatrice Bulger, and Bob. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, April 12 at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with burial to follow at the Bruce-Armada Cemetery in Bruce Township. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
