Elsie M. Battani

March 27, 1937 — December 26, 2023

Elsie Battani (LeCluyse) died peacefully on December 26, 2023. Elsie was born in Berville Michigan, in March 27, 1937, daughter of Victor and Beulah LeCluyse, she later married Raymond Battani, son of Bert and Catherine Battani of Romeo, Michigan.

Elsie sewed beautiful quilts, some that were donated to the church, and other charities, she was an avid reader, loved to bake and share her pies and cookies with her family, friends, neighbors and for church gatherings.

It is hard to write Elsie’s story without including Ray because they did everything together from traveling, to attending church followed by breakfast at a local restaurant, or just sitting on their front porch watching and talking to those who passed by.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond, survived by her three children Robert (Kathy), Michael (Linda), and Angela, and her grandchildren Stacey (Ali), Joe, Julie, Alex.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday December 28, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Clement Catholic Church (343 South Main Street, Romeo, Michigan 48065). Visitation will take place before mass from 9:00AM-11:00AM. Burial will follow at the Romeo Cemetery.
