Erane Ann Wilhelm

Erane Ann Wilhelm, age 72, a resident of Macomb Township for 20 years, passed away on March 26, 2024 at Serene Gardens Assisted Living. Erane was born June 15, 1951, daughter of Melvin and Loyce (Fisher) Gottschalk.

Erane graduated from Lutheran High East in 1969, and then worked for the United States Postal Service for the next 20 years. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the church and school before returning to work at Walgreens.

Erane was very talkative and known for being everyone’s friend. Her report cards commented on her being a social butterfly every year, and she was affectionately referred to as “giggles” throughout school. She made lifelong friends at both of her jobs. She never missed her daily phone calls with her daughter (Molly), her brother (Melvin), or her best friend of 57 years (Sue). She even knew all the gossip at the assisted living and details of the staff’s home lives. She was deeply loved by everyone and made friends everywhere she went. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling with her friends and attending concerts. She loved holidays and having regular movie night sleepovers with her daughter, son in law, and grand dog.

Erane is survived by her daughter, Molly (Kelleigh) and grand dog, Petal Wilhelm-Rey of Almont. Brother, Melvin (Cary) Gottschalk of Arizona, godchildren, JR and Melanie Gottschalk, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home in Romeo, Michigan. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM.

Burial will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:00AM, at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East (38425 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038).
