Ernestine Marie Hagedorn

Ernestine Marie Hagedorn, age 92, a resident of the Romeo area, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at the Village Rehab and Care Center in Armada, MI. Ernestine was born July 1, 1919 in Warren Township, MI., the daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth (Piper) Lambert. Ernestine married Herbert Hagedorn on May 23, 1942 at the Utica Trinity Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1996. Ernestine was a longtime member of St John Lutheran Church of Romeo. She enjoyed spending winters at their Haines City, Florida residence, doing crossword puzzles, and watching her beloved Detroit Tigers play baseball, whether if they were winning or losing. Ernestine is survived by her children: Larry Hagedorn of Holt, MI., Janet (Frank) Glovak of Berea, Kentucky, Sharon (Gary) Orr of Romeo, Elaine (Michael) High of Baton Rouge, LA., Lorraine Hartley of Polk City, Florida, and Paul (Donna) Hagedorn of Metamora. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 18 1/2 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and sister in laws, Dorothy Compton of Romeo & Alma Lambert of Ray. Ernestine was preceded in death by her granddaughter Catherine Glovak, grandson Michael Glovak, son-in-law Jerry Hartley, sister Emily Schultz, and brothers Arnold, Elmer, and Lawrence Lambert and her sister in law Florence Lambert. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Burial will take place Cadillac Memorial Gardens in Clinton Township. Donations to St John Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-9 and on Wednesday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
