Erwin R. Hahn

Erwin R. Hahn, age 93, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. Erwin was born at the family farm in Armada Township on September 8, 1918, the son of William and Emilie (Zielesch) Hahn. He married the former Florence Sanford-Smith in 1948 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 23, 2007. Erwin was a lifelong self â€"employed carpenter and farmer. His hobbies include working with wood and making wood gifts for his family and friends. Erwin, along with his family were lifelong member of St John Lutheran Church in Romeo. Erwin is survived by his children: William of Romeo, Dr. Susan Hahn of West Bloomfield, Cheryl Schoenherr of Mt Pleasant, MI., Cynthia (Dr. Robert) Huvar of Chicago, James of Romeo, & Lori Ismach of Portland, Oregon. Also survived by grandchildren Paul, Theodore, Austin, & Johanna. Erwin was preceded in death by his children Kenneth, Gary, and Gregory. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 11 AM at the St John Lutheran Church of Romeo. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 3-9 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
