Esther K. Apel

Esther K. Apel, age 97, a resident of the Romeo/Capac Michigan area, passed away at the Fisher Senior Care in Mayville Michigan on Monday July 3, 2017. Esther was born November 13, 1919 at her family home in Bruce Township, Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Ott) Apel. For many years she was a nurse/provider, working for families in both the Chicago and Detroit areas. Upon her parents getting up in age and in need of health care, she moved back to her family home to provide care for them. After her mother passed away, she continued to care for her father and also started working at the Community Hospital in Bruce Township where she worked as a health care worker for over 20 years. Esther is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Marie Zang, Pearl Spens, and Ethel Spens. Funeral services will take place on Sunday at 1 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home with burial at Cadillac Memorial Gardens, East in Clinton Township, Michigan on Monday at noon. Visitation will take place on Sunday from noon to 2 PM with a 1 PM service at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
