Eudell Gene “Jake” Jacobsen, age 87 passed away on July 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. His mother named him Eudell, but most people called him Jake. He was born on October 26, 1934 in Dannebrog,NE and grew up in Ogallala, NE where he excelled as a scholar-athlete. He loved his work and retired from GM after 41 years, having made significant contributions to the development of aluminum engine design. After the death of his first wife, Jake was fortunate enough to fall head-over-heels in love again and married Dianne. He became a “father” to her two daughters. Jake and Dianne were blessed to have 32 years together. Jake was a leader in his church and community. He served as the president of his church and of the Romeo School Board for many years. His larger-than-life presence, vast knowledge, quick wit, work ethic, and wisdom drew people to him. He added to the life of every person who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.
