Eugenie Dietrich, age 84, a 33 year resident of Washington Township and previously from Detroit, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Clinton-Aire Nursing Home in Clinton Township, Michigan. Eugenie was born December 24, 1929 in Odessa, Russia, the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Hatzenbuehler. She married Rudi H. Dietrich in Germany in 1950 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2005. Eugenie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, gardening, and being a member of St John & Paul Catholic Church of Washington Township where she sang in the choir for many years. She is survived by her son Peter of Washington Township, grandchildren: Renee, Peter, Raquel, Paul, Anthony, & Brianna. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren and was preceded in death by her son John and 2 sisters. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St John & Paul Catholic Church (7777 28 Mile Road, Washington, MI.) with Fr. David Buersmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 3-8 PM a the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. A Scripture service will take place on Wednesday night at 6:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
