Evelyn C. Halker

Evelyn C. Halker, age 99, a 50 year resident of St Clair Shores, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2010 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. Evelyn was born November 22, 1910 in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of Henry and Caroline Froh. She married Harold Halker and he preceded her in death in 1964. Evelyn worked many years at Bolton’s Bar in Detroit and her hobby was card playing, especially her favorite card game called “Pay Me”. Evelyn is survived by her son Gerald of Romeo and her sister Bertha Campbell of Sterling Heights. Also survived by grandchildren: Mark (Lisa) Halker, Debra (Dave) Hajski, Karen (Bill) Krause and Michael Halker. Also survived by great grandchildren Joshua, Jacob, Paige, Matthew, Kelli, Amanda, Audrey, & Will. Evelyn was preceded in death by her siblings: Amelia, Loretta, Luella, & Ralph. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo with Fr. John (Fr. Doc) Ortman officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 2-9 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with a 7 PM Rosary by the Knights of Columbus, Council # 7018. Visitation: on Thursday from 2-9 PM on Friday from 9:30 - 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church, Romeo Services: Friday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church (343 S. Main, Romeo) Interment: Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township
