Florence M. Hahn, age 88, 30 year resident of the Romeo area, and formerly from Armada Twp., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at her home. Florence was born Oct. 19, 1919 in Linden, MI., the daughter of Judson & Amy (Hayes) Sanford. She married Erwin Hahn in 1948. Florence graduated from Almont High School in 1938 and then taught at the Michigan School for Blind in Lansing for a few years. She taught elementary/special education at the Armada School System for 35 years before retiring in 1985. She then worked in the Romeo School System for 15 years until 2001 as a English as a second Language program. Florence and her family were long time members of St John Lutheran Church of Romeo. Her hobbies included painting, all types of art work, and collecting ceramic chickens. Florence is survived by her husband Erwin, children: William of Romeo, Dr. Susan Hahn of West Bloomfield, Sheryl (Gene) Schmall of Lake Isabella, MI., Cynthia (Dr. Robert) Huvar of Chicago, James of Romeo, & Lori (Dr. Richard) Ismach of Portland, Oregon. Also survived by grandchildren Paul, Theodore, Austin, & Johanna. Florence was preceded in death by her children Kenneth, Gary, and Gregory. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery.
