Frances Pewinski

Frances Pewinski, age 89, a 36 year resident of Almont and formerly from Sterling Heights, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007 at Fair Acres Nursing Home in Armada.  Frances was born March 3, 1918 in Roseville, MI., the daughter of Henry C. and Alice (VanThomme) Malburg.  She married Blaise Pewinski on October 16, 1948 at St Lawrence Catholic Church in Utica and he preceded her in death on Jan. 25, 1986.  Frances and her family were  long time members of St Matthias Catholic Church in Sterling Heights and then at St John Catholic Church in Allenton where she was a member of its Altar Society.  Frances was well know for having 8 children (3 sets of Twins) in 8 years. Frances  and her husband enjoyed traveling and especially being with her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.      Frances is survived by her children Ron (Sharon) of Washington Twp., Rose Schweinof of Mt. Clemens, Kathleen (Chuck) Rizor of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ken (Margaret) of Clinton Twp., Alice (Don) Kulza of Almont, Blaise (Andrea) of Capac, George of Lum and Jerry (Traci) of Almont.  Grandchildren surviving include Shannon, Rose, Shawn, John, Jason, Jamie, Janelle, Robert, Angela, Kevin, Kelly, Blaise Jr., Laura, John, Jacob, and Emily.  Great grandchildren include Wake, Katie, Ethan, Brooke, and Bethany.  Siblings surviving include Joseph (Clara) Malburg of Ray Twp., Eileen (Maurice) D'hondt of Ray, Georgina (Don) Campbell of Bruce Twp., Alice (Al) Sabbe of Washington Twp &  Grace (George) Debruyn of Armada Twp. Frances was preceded in death by her son in law Sandy Schweinof., and brothers  Leonard, Charles, Edward, Henry Malburg, & her sister Evelyn VanPamel.     Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 10 AM at St John Catholic Church in Allenton with Fr. Wayne Ureel officiating.  Burial will follow in West Berlin Cemetery.  Donations to Hospice of Michigan would be appreciated.  Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
