Frank Alvin Aul, age 92 a lifelong Romeo resident passed away on February 24, 2020 at Medilodge of Richmond. Frank was born on April 23, 1927 the son of Robert and Anna (Ackerman). He was a graduate of Romeo High School class of 1945. After graduating from high school he drove buses for the City of Detroit. He joined the Detroit Police Department in 1949 and retired after 25 years of service as a Sargent in 1974. After retiring he worked for the Criminal Justice Institute teaching Judo to the police officers. Frank also worked for the Budd Company as a Pipe Fitter for 10 years along with doing security at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. Frank loved to hunt, fish and travel in his motor home. He was also an accomplished Wildfowl Wood Decoy Carver. His true passion was doing Judo where he had numerous accomplishments, please see the attached article! Frank is survived by his children; Deborah Martin of Oscoda, Frank (Diane) of Ray Twp., and Terri (Jon) Marsh of Roy, Utah. Grandchildren; Shawn (Larry) Francis, Tyler (Ines) Sieweke, Marty Martin, Frank (Erin) Aul, Anna Aul, Jon (Rachel) Marsh, and Michael Marsh. Great grandchildren; Brian, Landon, Anthony, Maxwell, and Madison. One great great grandchild Brendan. Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife Dolly (Warner), brothers Robert and David Aul, and daughter Sally Sieweke.
