Frank J. Bacholzky

Frank J. Bacholzky, age 82, a lifelong Almont area resident, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Frank was born April 1, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Frank J. and Clara (Yost) Bacholzky. Frank was a 1945 graduate of Almont High School, went on to get a Teaching degree from Oakland University and his Masters in Education/Administration from Michigan State. Frank was a well respected educator in the Almont Community Schools for many years and retired from teaching in 1990. On March 12, 1948, Frank married the former Barbara (Boots) Bowman and they were married for over 60 years before her death on October 6, 2008. Frank was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Almont and his hobby was playing pickup basketball where he excelled. His philosophy was, “ If he couldn’t beat you in skill, he would wear you down till he did beat you.” Frank is survived by his children: John (Marcia Halsey) & Frank (Tracy Bechtel) both of Almont and his son-in-law Craig Georgeff of Frankenmuth, MI. Grandchildren include Tim (Courtney) Georgeff, John, Nicholas, Jeffrey (Heidi), Ryan, and Daniel along with great grandchildren Matthew, Viktor, and Evan. Surviving siblings include Robert (Lynnette) Bachholzky of Almont, Kathrine (Wally) Maxwell of Toronto, Barbara Jean (Del) Fox of Westland, MI., Donna (Jerry) Stasio of Warren, MI., Patty Bacholzky of Detroit, Richard (Louise) Bacholzky of Ysilanti, MI., and Virginia (Joe) Judge of Celebration, Florida. Frank was preceded in death by his loving daughter Carol Georgeff. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church in Almont with Pastor Keith Langley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hough Cemetery. Donations to the First Congregation Church would be appreciated. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-9 and on Thursday from 2-9 at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
