Frederick F. Blonde

Frederick F. Blonde, age 74, a resident of Washington Township since 1964, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Fred was born July 18, 1940 in Burnside, Michigan, the son of Joseph and Ellen (Kreiner) Blonde. He married the former Pat Santiago in Hawaii on May 19, 1962. After serving his Country proud in the Air Force for 5 years, Fred started work with Pontiac Motors where he worked the next 30 years in skilled trades until retirement in 1993. After retirement from GM, Fred was active in the Romeo/Washington Chamber of Commerce where he served as its President, was on the Washington Township Planning commission, and was an elected Trustee for many years. Fred was also proud of belonging to the Washington Township Fire Department where he served for many years and retired as a Sergeant. His hobbies included golfing, being a University of Michigan fan, enjoyed all types of sports, and being a founding member along with his wife Pat and children of St John & Paul Catholic Church where he served for many years as an usher. Fred is survived by his wife Pat, children: Lisa (Paul) Ballinger of Chesterfield Township, Dennis Blonde & Renee Blonde both of Roseville, MI. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Rod and sister Audrey Roth. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, April 21 at 11 AM at St John & Paul Catholic Church with Fr. David Buersmeyer officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 22 at 11 AM at Burnside Cemetery in Burnside, Michigan. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 5-8 and on Monday from 3-8 with a 7 PM Scripture service at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
