Gary Martin Kote, age 68, a resident of Washington Township since 1985, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Gary was born June 14, 1951 in Mt Clemens, Michigan, to William Robert and Gene (Millenbach) Kote. Gary was currently employed at Theut Building Supply as branch manager of the Richmond Michigan Plant where he worked for over 22 years. He married the former Deborah Efthiman on September 30, 1972 at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Detroit. When not working, Gary enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time at his cottage on Sage Lake. He loved being with his many grandchildren and was very blessed with many close, special friends Gary is survived by his wife Deborah, children Arthur (Tracy) Kote of Maryville, Tennessee and Brandon (April) Kote of Charleston, South Carolina; mother in law Marlene Mann; grandchildren Haley, Griffen, Thea, twins Annabelle & Beckham; siblings William, Terry & Eugene; a very special Uncle Don Kote who was a lifetime best friend and many loving nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sally as well as his father in law Arthur Mann. A Memorial Visitation/Gathering will be held on Saturday, August 17 from 4-8PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. In lieu of Flowers donations can be made to: Freedom House or www.purecharity.com
