Gay Ann Basnaw

Gay Ann Basnaw, age 44, a resident of Lapeer, Metamora, Taylor, Southgate and previously from Romeo, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. Gay was born April 3, 1966 in Mt Clemens, the daughter of Ernie and Margaret (Thompson) Schultz. She married Creston Basnaw on August 31, 2003 in Macomb Township. Gay was a 1984 graduate of Romeo High School and her hobbies included music, reading books, and taking care of her children. Gay is survived by her husband Creston, children: Nicole & Bethany Smith, Krystal (Curtis) Fitch and Andrew Basnaw. Grandchildren include Montana, Ian, Matthew, Seth, and Caden. Also survived by her father Ernie (Diane) Schultz, and siblings: Darrell (Diane) Schultz of Romeo, Penny (Mike) Kasper of Chesterfield Twp., MI., and Anthony of Seattle, WA. Gay was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Schultz on June 21, 2006 and her brother Brian on May 19, 1986. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 11 AM at St John Lutheran Church of Romeo with Rev. Mark Evans of St John Lutheran Church of Romeo officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2-9 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to the S.N.A.P. (Support services Need by Alternative Parents, P.O.
