Genetta Zito Cardamone Carver

May 1, 1929 — August 5, 2015

Genetta Zito Cardamone Carver was born May 1, 1929 and died August 5, 2015. She was born in Strongoli Calabria, Italy. Genetta was the youngest of 12. She went to school to be a nurse and wanted to be a nun. Sam Cardamone from New York came to Italy to visit his sister, saw Genette and the rest is history. They were married in Italy and she came by boat in 1953 to give birth to their daughter Anna Sara and two years later, Joe Tony was born. Same worked for Ford Motor Company in Detroit. Later they divorced and she married Dallas David Carver with whom she was married for 16 years. Genetta worked many jobs to provide for her family whom she loved so much. Her biggest regret was she was not able to have more children. Joe married Shelly (Sicherman) Cardamone and they gave Genetta, 5 grandchildren, Karyn, Joshua, Adam, Matthew and Jenelle. This brought her great joy and then her great-grandchildren came along, Chloie, Jack and Kenyl Virga. Whenever they came over Genetta had such a smile on her face. She loved children and they loved her. Those who knew here or met her were instantly taken by her loving attitude and her servants heart. Genetta was a feisty little (she was under 5ft.) Italian woman who worked hard and loved hard. In later years, she worked as a home caregiver for the elderly and enjoyed helping those in need. She loved the Lord and savior Jesus, going to church and being with her family. Genette will be laid to rest at Guardian Angel Cemetery on Rochester Rd. in Rochester Hills, MI. The family is having a graveside service on Tuesday, August 11th at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for financial donations towards the headstone.
