Genevieve M. Marks, age 96, a resident of Almont since 1999 and previously from Warren & Hamtramck Michigan and for a long time in Naugatuck, Connecticut, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at the Lake Orion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lake Orion. Genevieve was born December 10, 1917 in Naugatuck, CT., the daughter of Kasmir and Katie (Sulivoski) Wierzbicki. She married Victor Marks on February 11, 1936 St Ladislaw Catholic Church in Hamtramck, MI., and he preceded her in death February of 1982. Genevieve was a beautician for many years, mostly at the “O’Kay Beauty Salon†in Hamtramck and many years worked out of her house. She was also a “Rosie the Riveter†during WW II and later worked at the Burrighs Corporation which later became Unysis Corporation where she assembled circuit boards in Detroit, before retiring in the early 1980’s. Along with her family, she was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden and previously from St. Louise Catholic Church in Warren. Her hobbies include crocheting, cooking, making flipcakes, and cookies. Her survivors include her children: Geri Heron of Almont, Robert (Carol) Marks of Sebastian, FL., & Cookie (Jim) Manzo of Lake Orion. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son in law Vincent Heron along with 6 brothers & sisters. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, April 23 at 11 AM at St Cornelius Catholic Church of Dryden. Visitation will be Monday April 21 from 4-7 and Tuesday April 22 from 2-7. At the Henry M.
