George Brainard, Beloved husband of Brenda Brainard, age 83, a resident of Shelby Township for 25 years, passed away on Sunday November 8, 2020 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital. George was born July 23, 1937, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of James and Ethel (Gould) Brainard. George graduated Romeo High School in 1955. He then worked at Ford Motor Company as a Production Manager until retiring in 1997. George loved to travel, loved Africa, and throughout the United States. The only state he missed was Rhode Island. George loved country music, hunting, fishing, and especially family. George was an avid Sportsman which took him on many hunting trips all over the world, ultimately opening his own hunting company called Stoney Creek Outfitters. He always had another tripped planned. George is survived by his wife Brenda of Shelby Township, children Cheryl Brainard of Shelby Township, Craig Schultz of Colorado, Lori Schultz of Warren, Denise (Cortland) Larry of Macomb, Jeffrey (Jodi) Damore of Battlecreek, Scott Damore (Jim) of Indiana, sister Thelma Londrow, Utica, grandchildren Kasey Bednarski, Stewart Brainard of Shelby Township, Shane and Skylar Larry, Macomb, Riley and Regan Damore, Battlecreek, great-grandchildren Leon White, Isabella White, and Adalynn Brainard Shelby Township. George is predeceased by Terry Brainard in 2019 and brother James Brainard in 1996. Visitation will be on Saturday November 14, 2020 from 2PM to 8PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
