Geraldine B. Heron

Geraldine (Geri) Heron, age 84, a resident of Almont, passed away at Suncrest Nursing Facility on December 11th, 2020. Geri was born to Victor and Genevieve Marks on August 9, 1936 in Hamtramack, Michigan. Geri was a loving wife, mom, Nanny and GiGi.  She retired from Akzo Coatings International as their Human Resource Manager in 1996.  In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling and most notably Geri loved to sew and design her own patterns; even took up reupholstering the alter chairs for her church, St. Cornelius, Dryden, Michigan.  Geri enjoyed many dear friendships developed throughout her life and loved her family dearly.  Geri will be remembered by all who knew her for her kind and caring ways, always there to lend a hand, shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen.  To copy a line from our cousin Heather Heron, “Aunt Geri was an influential woman, she had her own ideas and had no reservations about holding firm to them, independent of what others thought”. Geri is predeceased by her husband Vincent “Vinnie” Heron 2005.  She is survived by her children, Scott, Lori and Amy, grandchildren, Brittney (Robby) Bryson, Ryan (Terra) Reis, Nicholas Reis, Scott Heron and Spenser (Tiffany) Heron.  Great-grandchildren Brody, Brennan, Maci, Aubrie, Allison, Oliver, Jack, TJ, Tyson, Annylah and Allayah. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 2-7 PM with Catholic service at 7 PM with Deacon Kurt officiating at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home Romeo, Michigan.  Due to COVID-19 the family requests all visitors observe social distancing and wear a mask.
