Geri R. Buzzell

Gerrine R. (Geri) Buzzell, age 86, a lifelong Romeo area resident, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Geri was born June 25, 1930 in Tustin, Michigan, the daughter of Oscar and Viva (Andersen) Anderson. She married Howard B. Buzzell on July 3, 1948 in Davison, Michigan and he preceded her in death on May 8, 2006. Geri retired as a bus driver for the Romeo School System after 20 years of employment. She was also a tailor for Shotwell Men’s Wear in Romeo and Mitzelfeld Clothing in Rochester. She also, for a short period of time, worked for the local A & P as a meat cutter and at the Romeo Savings Bank in a clerical department position. She was well known for her quilting, sewing, knitting, and enjoying all types of crafts. Geri is survived by her children: Andrea (Francis) Johnston of Rochester, MI., Barbara (Ralph) Casselman of West Branch, Bruce Buzzell of Puerto Gorda, Florida and Scott (Janet) Buzzell of Capac, MI. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at 11 AM at the Romeo First Congregational Church (102 Church Street Romeo, MI 48065) with Pastor Kim Newport officiating. Burial will follow in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1-8 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. Donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation or to the Humane Society would be appreciated.
