Gertrude M. Gohl, age 92, a 7 year resident of Armada and a 7 year resident of Washington Township and formerly from Detroit, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the “The Village rehabilitation Care Community†in Armada, MI. Gertrude was born April 1, 1918 in Ironwood, MI., the daughter of Albany and Lottie (Trethewey) Whitford. Gertrude was a former phone operator for Michigan Bell in Detroit. She attended the the Coranado Baptist Church in Detroit for many years and currently belongs to the Wesleyan Church in Washington Township. Her hobbies were singing in church choirs at the churches she belonged to, playing word search games, and playing the organ. Gertrude is survived her children Judy (Tom) Hart of Richmond, MI., Jackie (Tim) Libby of Washington Township and Rick (Jeanette) Gohl of Canton Township. Also survived by her sister Winnie Hicks of Kingsford, MI. along with 7 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren. Gertrude was preceded in death by her daughter Diana Gohl on January 2, 2009. Funeral services will take place on Sunday, November 28 at 5 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Rock officiating. Burial will take place at the Romeo Cemetery on Monday, November 29 at noon. Additional visitation will take place on Sunday from 1-8 PM. Donations tot he Karmonos Cancer Institute and its Hospice would be appreciated. Visitation: on Sunday, November 28 from 1 - 8 PM with a 5 PM Service Services: on Sunday at 5 PM at the Henry M.
