Gladys M. Verellen

Gladys M. Verellen, age 91, a lifelong Washington Township resident, passed away at Medi-Lodge of Richmond, MI. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Gladys was born April 27, 1922 in Washington DC., the daughter of Theodore & Edna (Roles) Paulios. Along with her family they were longtime fruit growers in the area. Upon retirement, Gladys enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, and spending time with her many children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. She was also a life member of St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo and was a member of its Altar Society. Gladys is survived by her children: Ronald (Linda) Verellen of Macomb, Ginny (Howie) Bjornstad of Bruce, Michael Verellen of Clinton Twp., Gerald Verellen of Macomb, Jane Keller of Big Rapids, Mary Pallister & Mitchell Verellen both of Washington Twp., Mark Verellen & Jeffery (Laurie) Verellen both of Livonia, Daniel (Jenifer) Verellen of Virginia Beach, Patricia Hlavaty of Warren, MI., Marcia (Terry) Bowers of Birmingham and Richard Verellen of Arizona. Also survived by 33 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings: Delcia LeFleur, Dorothy Bradley and Tommy Paulios. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10 AM at St Clement Catholic Church of Romeo. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-8 PM with a 7:30 PM Rosary at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
