Gloria J. Jarzembowski

Gloria June Jarzembowski, age 90, a 3 1/2 year resident of the Romeo area and previously from Warren and was raised in Detroit, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Wellbridge Nursing Facility in Romeo. Gloria was born March 22, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Madeline (Motyka) Domaradzki. She married Joseph S. Jarzembowski on February 23, 1954 in Detroit at St. Josaphat Catholic Church and he preceded her in death at the age of 52 on April 9, 1976.  Gloria was a strong, resourceful woman raising her children with love and affection, making sure her children continued to have all they needed to carry them to adulthood. All this, as she entered the workforce for the first time since being a teenager girl herself, including learning to drive, and taking care of family finance, as she was an old-fashioned traditional housewife. She was even affectionately known as "mom Jarz" or "Mrs J" even to this day to numerous of her kids childhood friends. Gloria enjoyed various crafts such as needle points, crochet and ceramics. She is survived by her children; Gloria Carol Sherwood (Robert Sherwood), Alan Richard Jarzembowski, Vincent Alexander Jarzembowski, Ronald Timothy Jarzembowski, Mark Randolph Jarzembowski, Joseph Jeffrey Jarzembowski; and her sister Dorothy Peters. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joseph, daughter Barbara Ann Edwards, her son-in-law Roger Edwards and sister Irene Wiacek. Also, numerous other brother/sister in-laws and a life of loved ones. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 7 at 7 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, (11280 32 Mile Road, Romeo Michigan 48065). Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 PM.  If you wish, donations can be made in memory of Gloria to the Alzheimer's Association.
