Golden George Shore

Golden W. (George) Shore, Sr., age 93, a 50 year resident of the Armada/Romeo area, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Troy Beaumont Hospital. George was born January 22, 1916 in Georgia, the son of Alvin and Mary (Neighbors) Shore. He married Ellen Davis in 1945 and she preceded him in death on May 27, 1988. George was a local farmer for many years, specializing in growing of sweet corn. He also was a home builder, building homes in St Clair and Macomb Counties. Upon retirement, he enjoyed going to the local coffee shops, especially Enners Doughnuts and also to the Romeo Big Boy. He loved to talk and knew no stranger. George is survived by his children, Golden Jr., (Elizabeth) Shore of Capac, Robert (Judith) Shore of Oxford, MI., Alma Louise (Fred) Coard of Armada Twp., Joyce (Carl) Klotz of Baltimore, Maryland, Kathy (Robert) Astone of Dallas, TX., and Connie (Michael) Cummings of Sterling Heights, MI. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Gary Shore. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at 1 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo. Burial will follow at the West Berlin Cemetery. Visitation: Thursday 11 AM till 1 PM Services: Thursday 1 PM Henry M.
