Gordon D. Dorris

Gordon Dean Dorris, age 91, of Romeo, a 48yr resident passed away on July 21, 2021 at his home. Gordon was born in Detroit on July 17, 1930 the son of Marian and Tommy Dorris. Gordon was a loving husband to Arlene, a father, papa, and great papa. Gordon and Arlene were married on March 10, 1956 for 62 yrs. They moved to Romeo in 1972 where they raised their family. Gordon was very active and loved being a part of the Romeo Lions Club for over 40 years. He also retired from General Motors as a Purchasing Director after 30 years. He was in the United States Airforce during the Korean War. His hobbies were Romeo Lions, gardening, cooking, canning, and working in the yard - he loved the outdoors. As the children of Gordon and Arlene, we were the luckiest of kids to be raised by two wonderful, loving, fun, and protective parents.....we are the fortunate ones!!! Gordon is survived by his children Blake (Mary) Dorris, Wendy {James) Keliher, Kelly (Mark) Young, Kim Walker, and Tracey (Greg) Solis. Grandchildren Kelsey, Abby (Detto), Jilly, Patty, Samantha, William (Nicole), Katie (Ondre), Kelly (Andrew), Kristi (Steve), Brad (August), Alec (Randi), Collin, Tiffney (Ron), and Bobby, and 20 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Diane and Joan. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, son Scott, son-in-law Ron Walker, Grandson Matthew, and great granddaughter Kassidy. Funeral Services will be Wednesday July 28, 2021. Services will be held at the Romeo Cemetery, services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Romeo Lions Club.
