Gordon Ray “Gordie” Shagene, age 56, a 4 year resident of Port Huron, and previously from Texas and Romeo, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2020 at the Brown City Missionary Camp in Brown City. Gordie was born March 15, 1964 in Deckerville, MI., the son of the late Jacob Simon and Beatrice Ellajean (Pike) Shagene. He graduated from Romeo High School in 1983 and worked for a short time at the Meyer’s Store in Washington Township. Gordie was active in the Colonial Wood Missionary Church in Port Huron, where he served as an usher at the Saturday night service and Orchard Community Church in Romeo. For over 20 years, he helped set up and work in the kitchen at the Brown City Missionary Camp. Gordie is survived by his brothers: Robert , Brian “Penny”, and John and 4 nieces: Donna, Kim “Ray Randall”, Yvonne and Ruthie, 3 nephews: Bobby "Marsha", James (Kathy) & Brian, 6 great grand nephews: Matthew (Syndey) and his sons Luke & Carson, Joseph, Anthony, Zachary, Dalton, & Brandon and 8 great grand nieces: Harmony, Pride, Xora, Joy, Theodora, Sabrina, Kaylee, and Lylith. Gordie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Arnold, sister Pauline, and one great grand niece Letha. Funeral services will take place at noon on Wednesday, July 22 at the Orchard Community Church (74903 McKay Road, Romeo Michigan 48065) with Pastors Jeff Hosler & Dale Rinke officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday from 10 AM till noon, the time of the service at the Orchard Community Church. Burial will follow in the Bruce-Armada Cemetery. Donations to the family would be appreciated. Local arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
