In loving memory of Grace M. Hamilton, age 90 of Romeo Michigan who passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Evangelical Nursing Home in Sterling Heights Michigan. Grace was born June 10, 1918 in Detroit, the daughter of Arpad & Matilda (Puskas) Barkovits. She married Lawrence J. Hamilton in Detroit on April 12 1939, and he preceded her in death in March of 1996. Grace is survived by her children: Sandra Presser of Woodinville, WA, Gail Hamilton of Auburn Hills, and L. Joseph (Karen) Hamilton of Shelby Twp. Also survived by 6 grandchildren: Renee (Frank)Yerrace, Dwight, Eric (Elisa) and Kevin Presser, Veronica (Jeff) McDougall, Christopher Smiecinski and 6 great grandchildren: Jack and Nick Waite, Sarah and Frank Yerrace, Willie and Carmen Presser, and her sister Elvira Gaines and numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Hamilton. Grace was a very special one of God's creations who touched so many lives and gave so much of herself. As a devout Catholic she embodied Christ's teachings. She was a caring and compassionate soul who saw only the good in everyone. All who knew her loved her, be it her children, the bank tellers, or the Kroger cashier. But most of all she was a devoted mother who kept us in her daily prayers. Grace studied art and music at Cass Technical High School in Detroit. Her hobbies were cooking (Hungarian), gardening, nature, and listening to Paul Carey, George Kell and Ernie Harwell announce her beloved Detroit Tigers. She loved to search the shore for shells, watch a sunset and take care of her kitties. Grace truly found the pleasures in the little things in life. Saying that we will miss her is an under-statement of immense proportion. Our memory of her love, her warmth, her lovely smile, her love of all of God's creatures will stay in our hearts and minds forever. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on December 1, 2008 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Romeo at 10 AM and a funeral luncheon will immediately follow. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Saint Clement Catholic Church, the World Wildlife Fund, or the charity of your choice. Visitation: Visitation Times
