Harvard Eberling

August 16, 1918 — May 3, 2011

Harvard Eberling, age 92, a 1 1/2 year resident of Imlay City, and previously a 56 year resident of Romeo, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Brian’s House in Davison, Michigan. Harvard was born August 16, 1918 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of Theodore and Mary (Mazur) Eberling. He married Helen Wilson on June 30, 1941 in Ohio, and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2001. For most of his life, he was a meat cutter with A & P Grocery Chain before retiring in 1981. He previously worked at Wheeling Steel in Wheeling, West Virginia, was a member of CCC Camps in the 1930’s in the Utah/Wyoming area, was a fireman on the steam locomotives, and upon moving to Romeo was a part time member of the Romeo Police Department. His hobbies included fixing anything he could get his hands on and was an avid collector at area garage sales. Harvard is survived by his children: Harvard L. Eberling of Texas, Richard (Joyce) Eberling of Imlay City, and Mary Ann (Russell) Roberson of Florida. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and was preceded in death by his son John on Sept. 14, 2001. Burial of ashes will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 1 PM at Bruce-Armada Cemetery in Bruce Township. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo Michigan.
