Harvey A. Berlin, age 82, a 18 year resident of Richmond and formerly from the Romeo area, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township. Harvey was born June 7, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Charles A. and Louise (Dressler) Berlin. He married the former Elsie J. Gabelman on August 1, 1958 at Mt Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit. Harvey worked for over 30 years as a stainless steel molder for Induction Steel and Molding Company in Eastpointe, MI . He then worked as the head custodian at Amanda Moore Elementary for 14 years before his retirement in 1993. He loved to grow flowers, bowled when he was younger, and be with his many family and friends. He served his Country with the National Guard for many years. Harvey is survived by his wife Elsie of Richmond, two sons: Michael (Victoria) of Capac and Ken (Veronica) of Almont. Grandchildren include Jessica & David and great grandchildren include Sara & Nathan. Harvey was preceded in death by his siblings: Arthur, Edward, Bill, Chuck, John, and Margaret Davis. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 13 at 7 PM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Pastor Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday at 11 AM at the Bruce Cemetery in Bruce Township. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5-9 PM.
