Harvey P. Haska, age 88, of Lenox Twp. passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at McLaren-Macomb Hospital. Harvey was born on June 14, 1924 the son of Felix and Elizabeth. Harvey graduated from Eastland High School in 1942 and married Minnie Lowell on July 28, 1944, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Roseville. He and his wife lived in Port Richey, Florida for 28 years where he was the unofficial "Mayor of Oak Springs Travel Park." He was an avid golfer and directed Oak Springs bingo for several years. He worked for U.S. TACOM for 35 years as a Contract Specialist. Harvey served on the school boards of the Roseville and Greater Gratiot School Districts, as well as the Macomb Intermediate School District, for a grand total of 34 years. Throughout his life, he was very active in his community& church. He never hesitated to help others and was a friend to all. His signature "bombastic" piano playing and bear hugs will be missed by all who knew him. Harvey is survived by his wife Minnie Haska of Lenox. Children, Nancy (Lawrence) Allard of Chesterfield, Lawrence (Cheryl) Haska of Warren, Ronald (Heidi) Haska of Belmont, Mass., Pamela (Donald) Walker of Lenox, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and son-in-law Thomas Smith of Kansas; sister Marilyn Ewart as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Barbara. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 10 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, Romeo. Visitation will be on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 2-8. Burial will take place at 2:30 at Cadillac Memorial Gardens.
