Heinz H. Stadelbauer, age 65, a 30 year resident of Romeo and formerly from Clinton Twp., passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 at his daughter's home in Loveland, Ohio. Heinz was born March 25, 1942 in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, the son of Godfried and Marie (Hermann) Stadelbauer. He married the former Judith Latimer on May 21, 1966 at the Grosse Pointe Congregational Church. Heinz worked as a self-employed shoe salesman at his shoe company called Bauer Shoes in both Detroit and Rochester, MI. He then worked as a flooring specialist at Home Depot until his retirement. Heinz was instrumental in starting the Romeo Soccer Club, the Peach Festival Soccer Tournament, and getting competitive soccer started the in Romeo Schools. He was an Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. Heinz is survived by his wife Judy of Romeo, children: Lori (Chris) McKay of Loveland, Ohio, Monika (Chris) Schapman of Allenton, Reinhard of Sebring, Florida, and Kurt (Tiffany) of Imlay City. Grandchildren include Chris Jr & Alex McKay, Aaron, Brent, & Kirsten Schapman, Craig, Reinhard Jr., Rachel, Brook, and Elaina Stadelbauer. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday at 10 AM at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home of Romeo with Rev. Eric Majeski of Grace Lutheran Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at the Great Lakes Veteran Cemetery in Holly, MI. Arrangements by the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home, Romeo, Michigan.
