Helena C. Knowles

Helena C. Knowles, age 91, of Romeo, passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Orchard Grove Health Campus. Helena was born on July 29, 1926 in Windsor, Ontario, the daughter of Adam and Catherine (Sarna) Lisinski. Helena was a Canadian citizen who came to the United States as a war bride. She worked as an apartment manager for many years. Helena retired to Florida for 20 years before returning to Michigan. Helena was an avid Tennis and Table Tennis player, becoming a Tennis champion at age 40 and again at age 75. Helena is survived by her son Alan, of California, daughters Catherine of Romeo and Beth Freeman of California, son Dale (Debra) of Chesterfield, and daughter Sandra (Mark) Giuliano of Romeo as well as 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Helena was pre-deceased by her loving husband of of 64 years Keith Ernest in 2012 and her three sisters and one brother. Services will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 5 pm with Father Jerry Kessel officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 1:00pm-6:00pm at the Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
