Henry C. Gutenkunst, age 87 of Almont passed away on November 24, 2019. Hank was born on April 14, 1932 the son of Henry and Helen (Lesch). After completing high school he joined the Air Force. In the summer of 1952 he married his childhood sweetheart the late Jacqueline E. Gerhardt. Hank was a self employed businessman in the insurance industry and land development. He was actively involved in the community as President of the Warren Kiwanis, President of the Almont Athletic Boosters, serving on the Almont Township Planning Commission, and as Sexton of the numerous cemeteries in the area. He was elected to the Almont Athletic Hall of Fame for his work in the boosters. Above all, Hank was devoted to his family, he enjoyed the outdoors and all of its creations. He especially loved his tractors and his chainsaws. He enjoyed raising sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, and horses and has been known to be a dog whisperer. Hank is survived by his children: Steve (Constance) of Fairhaven, John of Almont, Mike (Sheryl) of South Lyon, Julie (Chris) Lemay of St Clair Shores. Grandchildren; Andrea, Cassidy, Jacque, Emily, Alyssa, Ben, & Abigale, and great grandchild Kaiden. Brother Frank and sister Annie Wrubel. Hank was predeceased by his loving wife, son Frank, and his parents. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at noon at St John Catholic Church of Allenton. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 and Friday from 3-8. There will be a Prayer and Reflection Service on Friday at 6:30. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp.
